I choose to see them as nearly synonymous. Perhaps "religious"
is a bit more applied than "spiritual".
Considering the global situation as a "chapel precarious"
and qualia as "religious experiences", then "spiritual"
might be more "story" or folk lore based and "religious"
as reality based. Thus we tend to have "religious
institutions", not "spiritual institutions".
What about a "haunted house" at Halloweens?
Is that spiritual or religious? Or is there a third category
going on here?
