Silence is golden

I recently challenged myself to make the 5-hour drive (alone) in
silence . . . no radio, no CDs, no books on tape, no cell phone
conversations (ok, I had to talk to the "subway sandwich artist" and
cashier on my pitstop, but that was it).

At first it was a bit unnerving, but after awhile, it became rather
enjoyable
-- like a 5-hour long meditation.

It's amazing how much you can learn when you turn off the noise and
just pay attention.

Sometimes you have to 'tune out' to 'tune in'
