Society supports science because science can persuade us to fit into
society. Here is a breakdown of at least one scenario:
Stage 1 people:
Some people worry over their unusual experiences. They may feel that
they are too sensitive to the thoughts of others, or may worry over
visions, and will want these thoughts to stop. They do not tell anyone
but instead learn denial and coping techniques. These people never
challenge the status quo that taught them, and keeps them in fear.
Stage 2 people:
These people also worry about having visions and experiences, but they
actively search for a relief from worry. Science tells them that their
experiences are impossible to have in a healthy mind and are 'symptoms
of anxiety', and that drugs will stop this disorder. These people also
never challenge the status quo.

Jones himself should write "How to catagorise all of humanity in such
a way that half the catagories see visions (1 and 2) half again are
tormented by science (2 and 3)"
