First, a plea: Let's put to one side for a moment our memories of the
collusion of psychiatry and clinicians in the elimination of the
disabled and Jewry in war-time Germany, and the stifling of dissent in
cold-war Russia, and the current mass-sedation of the infirm and
disabled in the western world, and focus now on the involvement of the
psychology creed in modern America and the creation of a new Uncle Tom.

From the beginning, psychiatry exerted its muscle where money and
influence could be bought in announcing that black slaves ran away
because of a hyperactivity disorder. With promises of 'cure' they
legitimised a social nightmare. Disorder is also legitimised today as a
friendly human attempt to make things better. Today, we welcome one of
its siblings in the creation of ADD or ADHD and the nursing of
'affected' children with amphetamines.

Also today, the psychology clinicians offer us a new disorder that they
can tackle: we have for the black man "DID" or Dysfunctional Identity
Disorder, a condition that apparantly is peculiar mostly to American
blacks. The "disorder" product still sells - the American black man or
more accurately the Uncle Tom buys it, just like the slave-owning whites
of old bought it. Oh yay brother.
