The only reason SSRI's increase suicidal behavior is that
patients who are otherwise too depressed to commit
suicide get well enough to commit suicide before they
get well enough to be free of suicidal ideation.
Mental hospitals used to be full of depressive patients
who had trouble getting out of bed. The treatment options
in the good old days for such people used to be limited
to electroconvulsive shock, which causes brain damage
(for references see: Bret KKKahill.) The evidence in
favor of the effectiveness of antidepressents is so
overwhelming that only Scientologists and other weirdos
deny it.
Those who claim SSRI's cause violence are just
succumbing to the Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc
fallacy. That is, they find postal guy, X who is on
medication Y, therefore medication Y made him
postal. You might as well check to see what
breakfast cereal he eats.
And did granola cause the Weatherman Underground
and Ted Kascynski to blow things up?
Now, go back and hide; Xenu has your IP address.
