A soldier was found guilty today in shooting all the members of his
family. Receiving undisclosed treatment from the psychiatrists for his
"PTSD" his cannabis use was blamed and possibly "mental illness". My bet
is that like so many other people who turn into murderers, he went to
see psychiatrists for "help" and was given a GlaxoSmithKline cocktail of
antidepressant SSRI's. Even though these drugs now have to have
suicide/violence warnings, everything else gets the blame, like cannabis.

The greatest harm in illegal drugs in due to their illegality.
Legal drugs do harm for different reasons.

The only reason SSRI's increase suicidal behavior is that
patients who are otherwise too depressed to commit
suicide get well enough to commit suicide before they
get well enough to be free of suicidal ideation.

Any substance that artificially alters the state of consciousness has
unpredictable outcomes.
Im sure their are valid arguments regarding the prevention of such extreme
behaviour based on such prescribed medication.
I remember hearing from people who observed, during the Vietnam war, soldiers
who would walk into machine gun fire, holding a flower and projecting peace
on the enemy.
Who needs bullets to practice Russian roulette.!
