That our present constitution does not fully protect us
from having our liberties and powers as a human beings,
taken from us by stealth, corruption, greed, not forgetting
Too mention plain old fashioned tyranny.
The Government is by the people, for the people and the changes must
come from the people in order to have reform.
If the people fail to watch, monitor and partake in the Government
The Government can and will fail the people, leading to a closed
Government.
The Government may then become more supportive of special interest
groups
And what the special interest group’s support may not be good for the
people.
Given a choice between a corrupt campaign and a corrupt
appointee? I'll take the democratic route every time.

uh, so I missed the point (no, REALLY...I'm not being facetious
time>)...
The government is **already** possessed by a special interest group…
It’s called “The rich, greedy, fucking bastards consortium” (Okay, now
I’m being somewhat facetious).
We all recognize that something is going wrong (the people with either
a brain or a clue are aware of it), but I missed your solution….
What needs to be done????
Always willing to help,

Clearly a lot of state constitutions are less than inspired but even
the U. S. Constitution doesn't work by itself.
Someone needs to _make_ it work.
And before you can make it work you need to read it as well as the
contextual material, the _Spirit of Laws_, Montesquieu (1748), the
Federalist, Madison (1783) and, to make things easy, _Democracy In
America_, DeTocqueville (1833).
You'll quickly acquire a different understanding of the U. S.
Constitution than the one the corp. boss controlled whore media would
have you believe, i. e., Art. I, Sec. 8 means the shills for monied
interests decide all national economic policy, Maslow's pyramid is
consistent with Jeffersonian democracy, the First Amendment means free
speech is only for naked nazi flag burner parades, individualist
rights hinge on arbitrary definitions of hardware, Pat Robertson came
over on the Mayflower, Big Lie, Big Lie, Big Lie . . . .
