Ever heard of an FAQ Publius?
The Test
1.. Some of the questions are slanted

Most of them are slanted ! Some right-wingers accuse us of a leftward
slant. Some left-wingers accuse us of a rightward slant. But it's important
to realise that this isn't a survey, and these aren't questions. They're
propositions - an altogether different proposition. To question the logic of
individual ones that irritate you is to miss the point. Some propositions
are extreme, and some are more moderate. That's how we can show you whether
you lean towards extremism or moderation on the Compass.
Some of the propositions are intentionally vague. Their purpose is to
trigger buzzwords in the mind of the user, measuring feelings and prejudices
rather than detailed opinions on policy.
Incidentally, our test is not another internet personality classification
tool. The essence of our site is the model for political analysis. The test
is simply a demonstration of it.

Sean:
I too had some difficulty with some of the questions .... yes they are hard,
vague, unclear. Individuals would find it hard to pick a best right answer
for them. They are DESIGNED that way on purpose!!

THAT's why the test has some value beyond what you may realised. It's not
uncommon though for people to discard and ignore that which they are unable
to understand. That's why politicians keep getting elected by the same
poeple to do X, even though the politicians keep doing Y.

People just don't "get it" do they?

Have you ever done an "apptitude test" or a pre-employment personality test?
Well I have, and the way such things work are in methodical, rational, and
intelligently created to produce measureable results when the ANALYSIS of it
is produced. IOW, such funny odd questions actually can lead to very
accurate results.

The same goes for marketing surveys, and focus groups. It's a proven
scientific psychological valid approach. This "test" on the site is just
another example of what happenes every day in the real world of business
Publius.

You could start here in your research to educate yourself about such tests.

In psychology, the "Big Five" personality traits are five broad factors or
dimensions of personality discovered through empirical research.
