ORDER GIVERS AND ORDER-TAKERS. Or, why COMMUNISM is full of shit.

under capitalism, work is performed under contract. someone hires you
to paint his fence. you do it, and he pays you. he gets his fence
painted and you get money. both sides are free to make decisions.

but, under communism someone order you paint the fence for the 'good
of the people'. communist say this is noble rather than selfish
because you're working for the whole community than for yourself. (we
may ask, why is working for oneself 'greedy' or 'selfish'? isn't it
more selfish to expect others to do for you what you ought to be doing
for yourself? though a welfare-ite has less wealth than a businessman,
isn't the former the truly selfish one? he wants something for
nothing whereas the businessman, rich or not, earns everything for
himself--and is also being forced to pay taxes to take care of welfare
bums.) this idea is stupid as it goes against human nature.

indeed, though communist enterprises often started out with enthusiasm
of the masses, people soon lost interest in work because the so-called
'moral incentive' wasn't as rewarding as good ole material...

I think it is a little more complex than that. Actually in the West we
live in mixed economies not capitalist economies. There never has been
a pure capitalist economy as there has been a purely communist/
socialist economies. Maybe the Gilded age was the closest but even
then there was some state intervention in the economy even if little.
I think both extremes are doomed to failure, hence the mix;

A "mixed" economy is a mix between socialism and capitalism. It is a
hodgepodge of freedoms and regulations, constantly changing because of
the lack of principles involved. A mixed-economy is a sign of
intellectual chaos. It is the attempt to gain the advantages of
freedom without government having to give up its power.

Under capitalisn, the only fences you get paint are Wal-Mart's
fences.
Since fences only even exist in parking lots, rather than in
economics.

Which is why the smarter people always paint with digital and
lasers,
rather than with idiots like capitalists. And they do it with
robots, rather
than with Lockheed COTS idiots.

Sorry, you are Wrong. Work is performed under contract law which is not
necessarily the product of capitalism.
