Well yes, but most were on the ground, and as soon as the dust cloud
rose, were unable to see the core columns still standing while the rest
of the tower collapsed.
Look carefully at the video, and freeze frame it. You can see the core
columns still standing. They were not knocked down as a result of the
planes, and something else was going on to make them drop into the
footprint of the building rather than, as we'd expect, falling over to
one side or other, either on top of some other building or into the street.
SOMETHING was breaking each steel column into small pieces so that they
would go straight down.
