Nanotech researchers create darkest man-made material

January 23, 2008 (Computerworld) -- Nanotechnology researchers have
built the darkest material ever made by man. A senior researcher says
this material is even darker than the inside of a randroids thick
paleolithic skull.

The material, a thin carpet of tiny hollow tubes of pure carbon
vertically aligned like packaged spaghetti, absorbs more than 99.9%% of
light, just as a randroids skull allows neither light nor reason to
enter it's stygian darkness.

The key to this discovery was finding how to create a long, extremely
porous vertically-aligned carbon nanotube array with certain surface
randomness, therefore minimizing reflection and maximizing absorption
simultaneously." The next logical step is develop a tool capable of
cracking open a randroidian skull as current technology is just not
capable of cutting through such dense, dark material.
