Mother Nature doesn't care, so why do we?

When the storms hit, and people die, Mother Nature kills the old along
with the young, the innocent along with the guilty.

Mother nature is bigger than us, so why do we bother caring about
criminals?

You kill/rape/murder someone, you're whiped off the earth. There is no
need for you. You don't want to live in a civilized society.

I just find it funny, in the grand scheme of things, that we go
through all this meaningless, unnecessary bullshit when in a moment's
notice Mother Nature kills without conscience.

I know, the legal system is in place for the whole "innocent before
proven guilty" but again, in the grand scheme of things, so what if
someone innocent dies?

I dunno, it's just a thought I had.

Because human nature isn't much different now than it was when people
got fed up with letting human nature run its course, and they started
hiring gunslingers, inventing laws and forming gummints to protect
themselves.

so...... i dont think it'll ever end.

i guess with gummint we have less of it. which is better than no
gummint and more of it. *shrug*

People have a need to feel like they are in control. What you say is
true, it all can come crashing down in a second, but what if it
didn't? What there was not another natural disaster for another 50
years? Wouldn't you want there to be some sort of system in place to
keep rapists/murderers in check and the public safe?
