Milton Friedman (July 31, 1912 - November 16, 2006) was an American
economist, who made major contributions to the fields of
macroeconomics, microeconomics, economic history and statistics, and
who was also known for his advocacy of laissez-faire capitalism. In
Capitalism and Freedom (1962) he minimized the role of government in a
free market in order to create political and social freedom. In 1976,
he won the Nobel Prize for his achievements in the fields of
consumption analysis, monetary history and theory and for his
demonstration of the complexity of stabilization policy.[1] His
television series Free to Choose aired on PBS in early 1980. It became
a book, co-authored with his wife, Rose Friedman. The book was widely
read, as were his columns for Newsweek magazine.
...Friedman was the leading proponent of the monetarist school of

Galbraith pretty much won the debate anyway after the high tax Clinton
economic boom discredited "market" economists.
In fact, Galbraith should have never debased himself by debating an
outright fraud.
Free markets w/o free speech isn't an honest error; it's a scam.

That's certainly true. The obvious remedy is popular control of all
national economic policy as clearly stated in Art. I, Sec. 8 of the U.
S. Const.
Then the Gret Depression and World War II would never have happened.

Hey! Friedman did a lot of good. By encouraging rampant, mindless
free enterprise he maximized the consumption of resources around the
planet thus bringing us closer to our ultimate demise. Great for the
suicidal out there amongst us.

That's another thing. As the geoists pointed out, Friedman would
always dodge Henry George land arguments.
The 20th Century scams and wars are over. This calls for a
celebration!
