the wind is picking up speed

cutting trees in south america
trees already cut in north american midwest and africa

one day the earth's air currents will pick up so much momentum that
nothing
we do will stop the out of control sky gods

the liberal progressives tell us to save the forests
save the owls
but i want to voice the opinions of the small rodents
who the owls have been eating for millions of years
and the squirrel whom the panthers and jaguars have been feasting upon

its the squirrels and mice that have called upon the power of the sky
god

that is horrible lovejoy and the gaia hypothesis
squirrels worship the earth squirrel goddess

i propose a system of clothes lines
variable
raisable
big enough to not get toppled down by storms
wouldn't be too expensive
although it would be tampering with the global air economy
but the raisable, variable height of the tarps between two poles would
allow a computer feedback system
to respond to the changing weather conditions
current satellite monitoring would make this venture feasible and
relativity safe

i suspect we have less than 1 year to do this
as you might have noticed
hurricanes in the americas are coming in 3's and 4's now
they're hitting africa
they're hitting southeast china

if the global air economy spins out of control
nothing we can concoct will be able to stop it

the first thing you can do is stop saving trees
start hanging your laundry outside
protect squirrels from jaguars
protect mice from owls
write your local bird migration office
request that more birds migrate near the equator and to stop going
north

i wonder what lovejoy would say about saving mice and squirrels from
giant predators
wildlife reserves and tree reserves would save the small animals from
the big ones with regulated feedings of the big animals
the variable tarp/clotheslines would allow control of the weather
cheap and inexpensive
danger?

MAGNATITUDES

Earth’s wrath at our assaults is slow to come
But relentless when it does. It has to do
With catastrophic change, and with the limit
At which one order more of magnitude
Will bring us to a qualitative change
And disasters drastically different
From those we daily have to know about.

As with the speed of light, where speed itself
Becomes a limit and an absolute;
As with the splitting of the atom
And a little later of the nucleus;
As with the millions rising into billions –
The piker’s kind in terms of money, yes,
But a million square in terms of time and space
As the universe grew vast while the earth
Our habitat diminished to the size
Of a billiard ball, both relative
To the cosmos and to the numbers of ourselves,
The doubling numbers, the earth could accommodate.

We stand now in the place and limit of time
Where hardest knowledge is turning into dream,
And nightmares still confined in sleeping dark
Seem on the point of bringing into day
The sweating panic that starts the sleeper up.
One or another nightmare may come true,
And what to do then? What in the world to do?
