Major Realignment for Both Parties

Christian fundies will lose control of the GOP yet many "country club"
Republicans will still switch to the Democratic Party.

This leaves the neocons in control of the GOP and everyone else in the
Democratic Party.

It may be too late for the GOP. Either the USA will become yet another
one party state, or we will see the long awaited dissolution of the
Untied States of Denial, or possibly a new centrist party will form out
of economic conservatives, social liberals, and environmentalistss who
understand the ecology will be ruined with uncontrolled immigration.

Its too early now, but after the conventions when the major candidates
are selected and "none of the above" leads the polls, a visionary could
step forward to challenge the status quo. This is especially likely if
the middle class still feels insecure over the mortgage, foreclosure,
bankruptcy, and job loss issues.

The mechanism isn't complicated. It's a simple 3 step process:

1. "Country club" Republicans go to Obama and Reagan Repugs & Dems go
to Hillary.

2. The GOP is stuck with fundies, neocons and hate filling bigots
(assuming there is some meaningful difference) and implodes.

3. The Democratic Party splits into a conservative party (pre Reagan
Repugs) and the rest go to the Clintons (pre Carter Dems).

Now that's an acceptable duolopy.

Nope. It's a one-step process:

Whose ecology?

Certainly not mankind's - assuming of course rational economic
policies, i.e. free markets. Free market economies *benefit* from
immigration, in fact require it. All the fastest growing economies in
the world are experiencing labor *shortages*!

Ireland for example has been experiencing net immigration for the
first time in its (modern) history.

I'm not sure about China. But I strongly doubt many people are any
longer *leaving* China the way they did in droves under Mao. Where
could they find better (economic) opportunities than in China right
now?

The epitahs have been written for both parties at various times within
the last 40 years. When all is said and done, both parties will still
be viable. I wish and hope that the western Conservatives exert more
control. It would be nice to see more "Rockefeller" Republicans
also. Relegate the Fundies and Neocons to the outer fringes of the
party.

Free markets are NOT rational. Not now, not before, not in the
future. Free markets swing between too much supply and too little and
only meet in the middle when no one is looking.

And regulation.

China and India are NOT experiencing labor "shortages."
