Suicide by cop has become more popular in recent years. The last
such incident I read about, the perp pulled something out of his
jacket which turned out to be a hair brush and not a gun. In the heat
of the moment, the cops were justified in taking him out, and that was
obviously his desire. Lawsuits are awarded by anti-law enforcement
juries in big cities where everyday there is news about the latest cop
shooting.

Detroit MI and Camden NJ are listed as the two most dangerous cities
in America, and not because of the cops or not just because of them.
Cops simply go wherever there is crime occurring. Avoid those places,
and don't condemn all of America because of some bad examples. I
personally feel perfectly safe where I am living in America, it is a
low crime area, and so there aren't any cops around to speak of. But
in general it's not the traffic cops you should worry about, it's the
jack-booted, riot-control police you should worry about.
