Might be better to first give them the credit and see how they test out.

I see no reasonable way this abyss can be bridged. The burden of
religious specifics (THE WORD) which might pertain to each subject matter
should not be placed on a public institution.
A person who maintains that 'a word' trumps accepted science, should look
elsewhere for their general education.
