Judge says UC can deny class credit to Christian school students
Bob Egelko, Chronicle Staff Writer
Tuesday, August 12, 2008
(08-12) 17:25 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- A federal judge says the University
of California can deny course credit to applicants from Christian high
schools whose textbooks declare the Bible infallible and reject
evolution.
Rejecting claims of religious discrimination and stifling of free
expression, U.S. District Judge James Otero of Los Angeles said UC's
review committees cited legitimate reasons for rejecting the texts -
not because they contained religious viewpoints, but because they
omitted important topics in science and history and failed to teach
critical thinking.

Might be better to first give them the credit and see how they test out.

I see no reasonable way this abyss can be bridged. The burden of
religious specifics (THE WORD) which might pertain to each subject matter
should not be placed on a public institution.
A person who maintains that 'a word' trumps accepted science, should look
elsewhere for their general education.

Would you also credit the flat-earthers? Would you also give math course
credit to someone who believes that 2+2=3? The credits must be earned, by
having the requisite knowledge of the given subject.

World Socialism (Obama's and the Democrat's goal) can't work if
Christianity is popular.
That's why the Blue State Democrats have been oppressing Christianity
and moving to ban it.

Then the people who believe in that should NOT have to pay taxes to
support the public institution.

"Oppressing christianity"?!?!?!
Are you on drugs or are you trying to win the "Dumbest posting of the
month" award?
BTW, it's "Christians" who have fucked up your country.

This makes sense. If you didn't have a science book as a text in a
science class, it is highly unlikely that you learned any science.

No one has attempted to ban Christianity.

Horseshit. They call it liberation theology. Also note
that Jim Jones' ideolgoy was both socialist and Christian.

And I have no children, so I shouldn't have to pay any taxes that
support education *at all*.
