The Consensus?

Something that can be measured by
scientific apparatus?

The word of a superior?

The word of a celebrity?

How do you decide which is right,
and which is an illusion?

Dunk your bare head into a bucket of sulphuric acid for 15 seconds and
you'll help a group of pre-schoolers find / discover the "proof" of
their teacher's claim that such a thing is pretty stupid to do.

***Sure, that's one way of finding out, kind of like being a kid and being
hit
by a teacher with a paddle.
