Russians Brace For The Big Chill

http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7009739004

And here I thought that Siberia was supposed to be transformed into a
tropical rain forest.

On the other hand where it is usually tropical, it is freezing:

"Georgia, whose climate is subtropical, already plunged to as low as
minus 35 degrees Celsius. Lake Paliastomi in the western Georgia froze
for the first time in 50 years, reports Rustavi-2 television."

I'm sure the Russians right now would welcome a little of that global
warming they've been promised.

Me, too. My investment in Greenland beachfront property is going down
the tubes. And here I was hoping to cash in on leftards fleeing their
Hampton mansions as they get swallowed up by rising sea levels.

The weakening of Gulf Stream may be the reason for short term cooling.
This was predicted.

Short term unpredictibility has also been predicted by the warming
models, since the event duration bandwidth extends at both ends. I
have noticed that large scale events, both in intensity and duration,
are on the increase.

Like they predicted that 2006 and 2007 would be among the worst
hurricane years on record, supposedly due to the warming of the ocean.

It will be interesting though to observe the squirming if these cold
temperatures continue for a few years and, adding to the last 10yrs of
average global temps. being essentially unchanged, they have to start
confronting an actual net drop in temps - as for example happened from
1940 to the early 1970's.

Of course there's always the old fall back...hmmm, maybe they were
right in the 1970's and we are heading toward another ice age.

ok, FINE, It's already there. Are you a scientist?

It's there already Fred, all the convincing evidence an open minded
intelligent person needs is available, is self-evident, is detailed, is
confirmed by every subsequent new piece of evidence as being more urgent
than earlier science research info, is like a snowball rolling down a hill
and getting bigger and bigger, and is irrefutable, all you have to do is
look at it and think and then ask your own politicians what are they going
to do about it NOW.

Because now, is all we have left. ;-)

Exactly.

So, let's shut down the industrial revolution until we have the
answer?

For at least a decade computer models of AGW predicted extreme
_weather_ conditions. One degree C increase in climate => 20 - 30
degree colder winters and much hotter summers in most places.

This should have been pretty well settled by now.
