Isn't it time to retire Adam and Eve?

Author: KingOfTheApes

I know, they have been around ever since everybody owned a donkey the
way we own SUVs, but isn't it time to retire the old metaphors in
order we meet the new challenges, and not dwell in an evil human race
who's been punished for having committed the "original sin"?

Well, I've got my own metaphors, but please advance your own --if you
think we need metaphors at all... I do!

As many as necessary to forget the old ones: Adam & Eve, the Garden of
Eden, the Forbidden Fruit, and the evil snake.

Mine are: The evil lion & the fun monkey, the jungle and the
banana... ;)

Don't talk about them. I don't know why God put them there. Or perhaps
it was the Devil who created them along with mosquitoes? I think they
were part of the grand scheme to make Adam and Eve's lives
miserable. ;)

We can get rid of the whole Bible, but the fleas and mosquitoes are
harder to get rid of. ;)

Other gods were phased out when the leaders renounced them. Case in
point is Constantine renouncing the Roman gods. Of course, they were
replaced with new ones that were worst, but eventually some
enlightened leader will come and bury them for good.

If not, we can always fumigate the heavens. ;)
