Is my mate a saint?

I have lived with this woman for almost twenty years. Her passion is
gardening. She has made stunning, beautiful and and tastey outcomes.

My question comes from this: She attends the garden with every bit of
daylight available. In any other regard she shows no compulsive tendencies.

What IS THIS with gardening?

I'm guesing she likes the results of beautiful plants blooming from
the efforts she makes...

Gardening is better than gambling (or several other, less than
wholesome, hobbies); consider yourself a very lucky man...

She is probably a saint, with a direct line to the Gods.

What do you mean by "attends the garden"?
Some consider "attention" a form of prayer, a casting
of higher effects, more than the reductionists imply..

Facilitating growth, as we all do in our own unique way.

To be a saint you have to make a miracle.

Mother Teresa healed a woman of stomach cancer.

Has your gardener made a miracle?

Maybe it gives her a sense of control (in an otherwise unpredictable
world?). Gardening entails manipulating nature in a predictable,
controlled manner, which is perhaps is appealing to those that need
some element of control in their life.

Or maybe she just likes plants. :-)

Another possibility . . . does she have children? If so, are the kids
gone?
