Is Baghdad Safer Than Chicago?

Notice that Baghdad is a Muslim city at war (to refresh the mind of
those Christians that prefer to ignore it), and yet Barack Obama says
it is safer than Chicago, USA. Well, the numbers seems to ignore the
total population, but still teenagers in Chicago are only 10 times
safer than the American troops in Iraq (see details at link). Of
course, the Right Wing Christians won't support Obama, so it means
everything is fine.

Is Baghdad Safer Than Chicago?

This past Sunday, Barack Obama gave a speech at the Vernon Park Church
of God in Chicago in which he noted that the number of city
schoolchildren killed in the last school year was higher than the
number of soldiers from all of Illinois killed in Iraq over the same
period. "From South Central L.A. to Newark, New Jersey, there's an
epidemic of violence that's sickening the soul of this nation," the
Illinois Senator told the crowd. "The violence is unacceptable and
it's got to stop."

Couldn't tell ya, Sport. I haven't been to Chicago since the early
'70s. Baghdad was definitely safer then.

There's another important point of comparison between Chicago --and
America in general-- and Baghdad. They both have GATED COMMUNITIES to
protect those at the top of the food chain. Those that can afford it,
surround themselves with walls and security guards while the world
outside falls apart. Baghdad's got the Green Zone and Chicago's got
Rosemont. Hey, welcome to the jungle...
