Excellent idea. The mid-sized SUV's would still be serviceable with 1/2 the
horsepower. My 50 mpg Honda Civic has a little VTEC 4cyl gas engine that
produces ~90hp (stock) with plenty of torque. It would definitely pull a
3,500lb SUV, no problem. But it wouldn't accelerate to 60 in 7 seconds.
The bigger SUV's should be scrapped and recycled, IMO.

You can't for one second imagine that the Indians and Chinese can afford
to run them ? Some Russian Oligarchs could afford it of course.

Where do you think the Indians and Chinese will get the oil to run 15 mpg joke
cars ?

GM looks to be the current world leader in new practical PHEV designs
that will be on the market in around 2 years. You think they learnt
NOTHING from the EV-1 ? Hahahahahhaha ! The last laugh is on YOU.
USA - Chevy Volt.
Europe - Opel Flextreme.
Ford and Chrysler have no future. Chrysler especially after Daimler Benz
dumped them.
