How do you ignore the Devil? Best of advice about the Devil is just
to ignore him, but how exactly is this done, from a philosopher's
perspective?

Don't do anything that will get you in hell.

No, Lucifer must be openly fought day and night.

Ironically I would use some stoicism sprinkled with the secular
humanist psychology called "REBT" The idea is that if you get a handle
on your thought process you can control emotions and drives. Easier
said than done.
"What disturbs people's minds are not events but their judgements on
events..."
"Seek not that the things which happen should happen as you wish; but
wish the things which happen to be as they are, and you will have a
tranquil flow of life..."

Yea, but all have sinned and fallen short of the
glory... etc.

Not if you don't believe in him.

Just assume he isn't real. It's a good assumption until
he presents himself. That is to say, it can be falsified,
but until it is, just think of it as your operating theory.
Anyway, Lucifer would be the guy who was cast out
of the central committee for attempting his own coup.
But it would have been a coup against a pre-existing
police state. I fail to remember voting for Jehovah.
Perhaps I was confused by the butterfly ballot. I
would have written in myself if I had known what we
were voting on, with Dionysus as my running mate.
Was the ballot written in Greek? My Greek is very
weak. I must have thought we were voting for who
would be drug czar or something.

If you speaking outside of a metaphor (devil = "bad" thoughts or deeds)
then this is a issue for a like minded cleric or, if accompanied with
sounds or visions, a mental health professional.
If you are speaking metaphorically, then you might be more specific
about the nature of this devil and what good reason is there to 'ignore'
rather than to confront.
