This is precisely the point. This is what assures us that, if the
theory that predicts they would be created in proton-proton
collisions, then the BHs that are thus created are not of the earth-
swallowing sort (and this is precisely what the theory predicts), or
else we would have already seen them in the proton-proton collisions
that already occur all the time outside the LHC environment. The fact
that we have NOT been devoured by a black hole already from the proton-
proton collisions in cosmic rays -- which are NO different than the
proton-proton collisions at the LHC -- is tremendously reassuring that
we will not be devoured by one from one of these proton-proton
collisions at the LHC.
