My takes.
The writer wants authenticity and ethnocentrism.
The author disdains p.c. "genericism," blahness, and universalst
cookie cutter yuppies as phony.
Well, and the author (seemingly) does concede this, if the world
consisted of unreconstructed tribalists whom, for instance, think the
Earth is flat and that teenage daughters ought to be ... killed, maybe
stoned to death, for 'dishonrable" sexual behaviors, then I prefer our
modernity's progress/regress into blandness--duh.
Yeah, "artificial conformism" vs "natural traditionalism" is a
paradox, and what ain't.
Thus, some semi-uncreative individuals may find ways to distinguish
themselves from the orthodox "straights," such as with putting safety
pins through lips, wearing black clothing, and liberating bathroom
medicine cabinets.
Tweaking liberal dogma propagandizing Jews, television's effluency
touting advertising industry, and Sarah Jessica Parker's example of
portraying a generic ideal model Barbie Doll is profound .... (reader
inserts term or phrase).
