Perhaps not as a hobbling mandate (cite Emerson), but certainly as a guide. Consistency is possible and indeed quite easy in this case, though only if one sticks to the "new" (as of f95 or so) model. 2. You didn't ...

...to the ground on its limbs and hips, gives it a painful lashing. The beatings do not stop until the sexual animal finally cowers in a corner, forced somewhat into compliance because it is hobbled by terror. Even in this condition, however, its swollen eyes retain a lascivious glimmer. The bad sexual horse still has something to say to the charioteer and expects to enjoy some small treats for...

...simple, specially with the Fortran 95 wrappers that come along with it. For example "C=matmul(A,B)" is easily replaced by "call gemm(A,B,C)" Sadly the MKL is sold separately, rather than bundled into Intel's Fortran. Why do you wish to hobble the compiler just to do bit-twiddling that has no purpose? It is useful to have the freedom to represent LOGICALs as the individual case makes most convenient. TRANSFERring LOGICALs is not. -- ...
