Hey Brian, what "Instant Karma" means to me...Part I...disclaimers inside..

Disclaimer #1: just saying what "instant karma" means to me;
regardless of whether it's the actual meaning understood by the
general consensus. It's the "idea" I'm presenting, not the
"label", so if what I describe does not conform to
anyone's/someone's own definition of karma; then call my "idea"
something else if it makes you happy.

Disclaimer #2: As topic title indicates, "instant karma", was
something I wanted to run by Brian, to see how close it was to his
thoughts; not looking for debate on the validity of the "belief" in
karma.

All right then; this story starts out in the fall of 1981 at Yokota Air
Base in Japan. I'm at the gym in the locker room when I see a wallet
on the floor. I pick it up and it's stuffed with twenty-dollar bills
(I guessed about $400 to $500; didn't count it); important point #1:
I didn't think of stealing it, not even for a second. Saw an ID in
the wallet, walked around and found the man in the sauna; he was happy
to be reunited with his wallet.

Or it is just your choice to associate with the highly moral people that are
drawn to military service. Had you chosen to leave the service and dropped
your bag on a city street, chances are your good karma would not have been
returned. I would be more worried about the bad karma building on the father
of a teenage daughter becoming disoriented by "shapely female teenage
ass"...

Wait a minute, I'm not Brian. Please ignore above statements...

Very much so. The more balanced you are in your approach to life, the more
you will meet "instant" karma.

Nah kev's got the position evading agnostic's fence pale stuck up his
bum, too scared to jump, and so he's just reserving himself a space and
a place for all that god and heaven crap Brian.

Newton's Third Law, equal and opposite forces, applied to man's
behaviour, ironically I first read it posted by a socialist trying to
excuse his parasitical envy ridden socialist ideas, but if back-fired
somewhat for him.

"Each and every right or choice of action, which may be claimed by a
man, is automatically mirrored by an - equal - in - stature
responsibility / moral duty, on his part, to uphold that same right of
choice of action as may be claimed by another man"

If you dont want your purse stollen, then dont steal someone elses,
mystical karma BS be fucked.

NOTE I am not supporting the idea that any sort of morality is derived
from any sort of duty to other man, but rather as a duty solely to
yourself, not to permit your actions and ideas to contradict each
other.

I don't want to get "mystical" about this, but the reason I asked for
your view was the statement above. I seemingly "suffer" from this
phenomenon of karma **a lot**. I just gave one example, but it happens
to me both ways and **often**, and to the point that I have modified my
lifestyle to avoid conflict & confrontation & discord (yea, okay...no
need to bring up that certain individual from NZ; I'm workin' on
it). The point is I find my life "easier" going by a few guidelines
and if it's **just** a coincidence that it works out; well, I can
live with that.

Didn't Kant say something like that ?

Tony, philosopher

So many misconceptions, so little time.

Even mystics say Thou Shalt Not Steal, but just like you Kantian's
Tony, they are full of contradictions and have accidents.

What Kant says is not as important as how and why he said it.
