In order to smooth the transition from an individualist transportation
to public transportation as much as possible, I propose mounting gun
racks in public transportation.
A gun rack would be located above each seat and the guns would be
loaded and ready just in case a gun nutter "gits pushed too far."
Gun locos may not have enough dough to drive around the trailer park
but at least they will still have _something_ that's "individualist."

Good idea. When my father was young, he'd get on the city bus with his
shotgun and go rabbit hunting in the field at the end of the line ;)

Didn't you mean "collectivist transportation", in contrast to
"individualist transportation"?

A Red Herring is a fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented
in order to divert attention from the original issue. The basic idea
is to "win" an argument by leading attention away from the argument
and to another topic. This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because
merely changing the topic of discussion hardly counts as an argument
against a claim.

However absurd or incorrectly stated, the question by bret, should
there be gunracks on public transportation?

So absurd that it merits no serious response.
Just like all his posts.
If you want to try to treat him as an adult, feel free, but don't
expect anything good to come from the exercise.

What about mounting a target at the rear of the bus for target
practice?
