Interesting point about subliminal. These may well be out-
lawed based on the technical definition of what constitute
the subliminal. The mechanistic, and thus ultimately
detectable, use of subliminals may be outlawed, but like
you i see the use of subliminals in those unrelenting
juxtapositions which feed the culture, these inexplicable
attachments between ideas which seem somehow to escape the
consideration of our legislators. Conclusions intended to
be witnessed in the mind of the individual, which unless
science agrees, is left solely as the judgment of the
individual.

For example there's the way sex and violence are harnessed
in its crudest form, one to follow the other. Culture for
those who won't think much beyond these basic cues. Culture
to limit thought to mere instinct. So we play, and are
played with. ['liminals' I like that. ;-]

The anecdotal on twins seem to captivate science, i wonder
why exactly that is? As if an innate programing was revealed
in our biology. Tendencies towards certain wants or needs.
The will exerted on us through our genes. Biological
predisposition, propensity towards certain outcomes, which
to some is taken as clues to this innate control.

One answers the feeling with a thought. The culture we
share having much to say on that response. This, says
the culture, is the appropriate or desired response to
the particular cue. If you don't respond accordingly
there is something wrong with you. It's as if one stands
defiant of the science and all invested there.

Those twins subjected to the same culture might be more
predisposed to these culturally derived connections.
Having the same feelings, propelled by culture to answer
the feeling with the same response.

Maybe we are all lab rats without knowing it? In an
experiment we can not fathom. Mind games, our highly
selective culture imprints on us, those of us who can't
see where thought or instinct ends, and control begins.

BTW rewards work both ways, rewards for the bad as the
good, as indeed does the lack of rewards....
