George Hammond's SPOG and The Abductive Fallacy

For anyone confused about Hammond's proof of god, consider this
analogy:

On an alien world, people talk about a spirit that attacks you (but
not always immediately) if you walk over certain areas. This spirit
also comes out and wreaks havoc during storms, setting things on fire,
making an incredible noise and causing domesticated animals to go
crazy. They call this spirit "zappo" and have done for thousands of
years. Then someone discovers electricity.

They figures out that static electricity is what attacks you when you
walk on certain surfaces (and then, it turns out, you need to touch
certain other surfaces). Massive charges of static electricity are
what cause the destruction and the noise, during storms. Zappo has
been scientifically "proven".

Now replace "zappo" with "God of the bible" and replace "static-
electricity" with "human brain-growth deficit" and Hammond is
suggesting the effects or charecteristics of this spirit (God), are
explained as well by the brain-growth-deficit as zappo is explained by
electricity.
