But you haven't said that the prices are "unfair" in the sense of
being actually unfair. So without knowing whether the prices are
"unfair" you don't have any the penalty is unfair or just there.
--------------------------------------
I do not necessarily believe they are unfair, but according to Ta's thinking
they would be deemed unfair.
An example? The price of your wheat is unfair. It is poorer quality than
australian wheat, and it costs you more. therefore according to this "silly
theory" about unfair pricing, the US is paying more for wheat because you
guys are rich enough to pay it.
another example? In australia we get the same drugs that one would buy in
the USA, and on top of that one needs to pay frieght to get them here, and
one needs to put 'aussie" related leaflets into each box. and yet, we pay
anywhere between half to one fifth of the price that an american has to pay.
Obviously according to the "theory" of unfair prices, and how Ta believes
prices are arrived at,. that US patients pay much morw for drugs because
they are RICH.
Maybe, just maybe, they pay more for things because they don't have an issue
about getting RIPPED off by self-interested monopolies & the usual
unfettered capitalistic practices with the legal support of politicians in
your fair nation.
Or maybe they are just too damn thick to realise how manipulated they are
overall from ideological rhetoric that simply does not reflect the truth of
matters. I don;t know.
Then of course, one could look at the sub-prime debacle, and wonder who
really does pull the strings about prices, and interest rates, and who pulls
the strings about US government socialistic bail outs for companies and
banks. mmmmmmmm
I mean, either socialism is wrong, or it isn't? How come it is so
selectively OK in the USA, whilst US fanatics scream "oh you horrible
socialists" to everyone else on the planet??? I mean, things just do NOT add
up in any way for any political rhetoric that emmanates out of the mouth of
an American. :)
And that's the honest truth.
So far the only place on the planet that is supposed to be even close to
Libertaria with minimum govt controlls is Hong Kong.
God, if that's the best the right wing libtards can offer for a utopian
example of the benefits of unfetted capitalism, you can all go jump.
Great for shopping, but damned if anyone with brains and money or children
would honestly choose to live there when there were other options available.
And if they DO want to live there, then that's fine by me .... GO!!! and
enjoy Libertaria to your hearts content.
cheers
