Escape from reality

People are happier when they have escaped for a certain while the
reality of self awareness.
They lose themselves in books, television, Internet.

But in a democracy what is needed are concerned people. People that are
aware of the situation, that cope with reality.

So on the one hand you have people that escape reality and on the other
hand you need people that cope with reality.

Which side are you on?
