Engraved- a little story- how GOD GRABBED ME BY THE B**LOCKS!
This is a dream I had. The most vivid EVER.
I was sitting round my mums having "Oedipus" fantasies. I ended up
walking naked in front of my mum.
I took up drinking again (I'm a 'sober' alcoholic and drug addict)
I OD' ed on drink and drugs and died, after selling my life's work for
the price of two bottles of beer.
I came round in my home town. Somebody told me I was dead.
I went to text my girlfriend
She answered the phone in person. She had killed herself on hearing of
my loss
I found myself living in the spirit world, (Focus 27?), which is an
amazing place. You can do anything including flying and speaking to
the living. The living, while asleep or entranced could speak to the
dead.
You could fast forward and rewind, project your life story. No need
for tapes or gadgets, you could do the lot. Wow, there's a lot of
jacking off in most blokes lives....
Walking around the Earthly world as a ghost was funny. How you walked
depended on the history of the ground. Consecrated ground was lovely
and peaceful, and that's where the dead lived while sitting on the
earth. Where there had been tragedies such as suicides, the ride was
bouncy, forcing your flight or walk to go violently up or down.
I met Joe Strummer of the Clash, who was playing alongside the
surviving members (who I guess like me were asleep or entranced). The
music was f**king awesome. Elvis, Lennon the lot appearing and jamming
with living contemporaries such as George Michael. Unlike the so-
called real world, there is no segregation between the superstars and
the nobodies. All can play together. I visited an earthly pop festival
and at the side of it was a "dead" stage where all the artists were
dead.
On a personal level I met my relatives who had lived or were still
alive. Even dead pets. What was wonderful was the dead an alive ones
playing together.
I'd discovered that the last film I watched was called "Engraved", a
light hearted Jim Carrey comedy very much in the style of Bruce
Almighty or the Truman Show. Apparently it had the same effect as the
"haunted video" in "The Ring", in that everyone who watched it killed
themselves
I came face to face with many of my character flaws and fears, and was
touched by the sadness of my surviving relatives. I had a desperate
urge to tell them that I was not truly deceased but just living in
another dimension.
I walked into clubs straight past the bouncers, and when they tried to
throw me out their hands just went straight through me. Where some
people managed to hit my there was "pressure" but no "pain". I walked
into one bar and systematically emptied all the fruit machines.
The worlds of the living and the dead are parallel ones. There is
greater joy in the world of the dead, but a great sadness towards the
suffering of the living. The dead love playing pranks on the living
and I was surprised at the power they had over them. This went to the
extremes of causing disasters.
I looked up in the sky and saw brilliant lights, like those described
in "near death experiences". I had a strong feeling that I had the
choice between staying there, moving beyond the "human" kingdom,
reincarnation and having my old life back, "rewound".
I saw my girlfriend standing in a line consisting of Kylie Minogue,
Cathy Dennis, Louise Redknapp, Sonia Evans and a few more similar
looking people. My girlfriend has an eating disorder and depending on
her size has looked like all of the above :) What was really weird was
hearing her name translated into Hebrew (she is of Jewish descent)
As a called out her name, she transformed from the "supermodel" looks
she had in her youth to as she looks today. What saddened me is when
she said she wished she'd been aborted (she is chronically depressed)
Maybe some of this is down to me not caring enough.
Funnily, the day in real life started with a elderly friend of mine, a
hippie in the 60's saying that when God speaks to you, it can be most
profound, in that it can fill you simultaneously with so much love and
fear that you are literally struck to the ground.
What I witnessed in my dream was the ultimate in sci-fi, horror and
comedy all rolled in to one. And it didn't feel dream like at all. It
seemed, realer than real. What was weird is that it brought my whole
mind, spirit and life together for what seemed like the duration of 24
hours.
