Empathy Deficit Disorder & Hollywood

Empathy Deficit Disorder an affliction where Hollywood executives cannot
seem to grasp the idea that not every scene in which a character appears
with any kind of mental disorder is automatically funny.
For example, Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, Richard Gere in Mr.Jones,
or Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.
