The moments in between, when you don't breathe in, you're not selfish.

And breathing out may even do some good. It gives food for trees,
bacteria and so on.

Trees make oxygen, so giving food for trees can't be selfish, using this
oxygen while breathing may only be a means of getting something back
from the trees.

My lungs breathe, so "they" are selfish.

I'm appreciative, as they contribute to my biological existence, and allow
me to experience creativity.

You could say they are self -ish.

Who knows whats better for society?

"A lotta men tried and a lotta men died"

We each only do what we do to understand who it is that's 'doing'.
The search for self , is a selfish search.
