In the case of Diana, the "illness" was royal attitudes and protocols
which had been in place for centuries and which decided what she
supposedly could and could not do.
There was no cure.
But it was fun watching some of those protocols change, FAST, when an
enraged public, for a few brief enjoyable moments in the days after
Diana's death, turned on the "royal" family and damn near collapsed
the whole sorry pretension.

Sort of a portent of things to come.
