Yeah.. there's some home brew stuff out there that I've looked at.
If people go the bio-ethanol route rather than the bio-diesel route,
they will need two things:
1) An ethanol permit from BATF which, (surprisingly) is not hard to
obtain.
2) And if they want to use cellulose rather than grain based mash,
they will have to obtain the right kind of bacteria and fungii to lyze
and convert the lignin in the cell walls.
You can either buy the right kind of biota (which is patented) - or
you can experiment until the right kind of air-borne bacteria self-
innoculates the mash (which is how the patented biota was first
discovered anyway).
