Perhaps a kind of ideational curiosity.
"Curiosity" seems to be well developed in the
human condition through evolution.
With the complex ideational handling of the more recent
human brain in evolution and the production
of a personal virtual reality, "ideas" may be treated as
"things" and be subject to thing type investigation or curiosity.
Coupling "curiosity" with the mysterious fact of existence
and the ancient brain product called "feelings" can lead
to a "search" for "enlightenment". Whatever effort and interpretation
ensues is probably culturally driven.

That's what I am afraid of. Save me from too many moths, like disciples to
a flame.

What is; a motivation to rid oneself of being unenlightened (doesnt
necessarily apply to vampires and the undead)
Maybe a crusade driven by arousal and motivation. You need to be more
specific.
Electrical stimulation of the portion of the brainstem known as the
septum produces sensations of pleasure in humans. In one male subject
- the electrical activity of the septum was recorded during orgasm...
