I grew up in Tidewater and have worked all over the South and I've
even had low wage temp. employees _tell_ me in so many words that was
why they were doing fundyism.
But the cause of fundamentalism is a "mystery" to every establishment
liberal.
The _New York Times_ can't figger it out even though dedicated a
writer to the phenomenon.
The SPLC can't figger it out.
The ACLU can't figger it out.
These lofty types who can't figure anything out need to get _out_ of
the office, stop deluding themselves that the Civil Rights Movement
was a complete success, and go apply at some temp. agencies in the
bible belt.
