What exactly is deconsructionism? Does it fall under the category or
philosophy or literature?

Jacques Derida, who may have coined "de-constructionism," died a
couple of years ago

He is considered a leftist philosophy professor

I don't know the definition:

www.dictionary.com

Here are some impressions of what I sometimes think about it.

It's a nasty way to attack something in bad faith by reducing a
phenomenon to absurdity.

Perhaps it's an ad hominem disguised as rational argumentation

Sometime ago it was discussed at , and I knew even
less about it then.

A Woody Allen unpoular movie, DECONSTRUCTING HARRY, is subsequent to
his break-up with Mia Farrow.

Woody, is awful, and the movie is sad stuff with graveyard humor.

Deconstruction is a term used in contemporary literary criticism, philosophy,
and the social sciences, coined by Jacques Derrida in the 1960s[1]. The Oxford
English Dictionary defines deconstruction as "A strategy of critical analysis
[...] directed towards exposing unquestioned metaphysical assumptions and
internal contradictions in philosophical and literary language."[2]

In 1985 Derrida stated that he preferred to describe "what deconstruction is
not, or rather ought not to be".

It is literature pretending to philosophy.
