> Darwinism's Dilemma (part I: Cave Man)

Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection has been tossed into the
dustbin of history. Actually, like any scientific theory, it is evolved,
been strengthened, and integrated with all biological disciplines and other
branches of science. Evolutionary theory today, especially after the modern
synthesis and develoopments since then, is profoundly more powerful than
what Darwin himself imagined.

Evolution by natural selection is, in other words, here to stay and still
improving!

It requires a great deal of cleverness, to make yourself
stupid enough to believe such tripe.

But the cleverness was probably that of Gould or some
other prophet of political correctness, not your own.

There are Darwinists, biblical literalists, and
crackpots. Gould was a crackpot. His views were never
taken seriously by the experts in the many fields that
he wrote about with such great confidence.

You know, I've heard about people like that.

You asserted that Darwin has been tossed on the dustbin of history.
It is I who should say "Huh?": Explain yourself.

Actually he did not see that.

He asserted that it could be seen, but most in his field
could not see what he saw.

For species where we have plenty of fossils, such as
shellfish and large herbivores, we see gradual and
continuous change Gould's supposed examples of
stasis are in fact examples of species where we have
very few fossils, allowing him to substitute imagination
for observation.

They usually have dogs who specialize in property-rights evaluation,
don't they?

Sigh.

Punk eke is simply the same mechanisms happening in a smaller gene
pool before the result has expanded to fill its niche.
