Consciousness and the Brain - breakthrough!

Top scientists working on the relationship between mind and the brain
have found a remarkable correlation between brain shape and mind -

These scientists claim that the mind is not found in the brain, but on
the brain. They point to the wrinkled appearance of the brain which
increases surface area, which in turn allows more thinking to take place.

Thoughts are now believed to be 15%% in the brain and 80%% on the brain,
while the remaining 5 percent is outsourced by the brain and exists in
the general nervous system, particularly the spinal cord.

One scientists said, "now that we know that mind can exist 'on' as well
as 'in' nervous structures, we are looking to see whether it can also
exist between them, or near them. For example, if I cut my finger I can
say that I have a pain on my finger, or a pain near my brain".

Prediction: 'mind' will be found to be also outside the physical confines
of the body determined by, crudely speaking, the electro-magnetic field
produced by the nervous system which is both effected by and effects the
'outside' environment.
