No thanks, I'll stick by 'veridical'.
It is the correct part of speech, and it subtly says what I intended
it to.
I learned that 'veridical' derives directly from veridicus/verax and
the Indo-European suffix 'dicere'= 'to say', whereas veracious derives
proximally from 'verax', and means only 'truth'.
As I understand it: 'veridical' is an adjective which means that the
truth has been uttered,
But 'veracious' merely means that it is true.
As it was "said" on TV, I choose 'veridical' as the slightly more
accurate adjective.
