The American medical system is by far the world's most expensive, but
is nowhere near the top in the coverage extended or the health
actualized. The costs are going through the roof; the quality of the
care isn't. There are several reasons for this.
First of all, America is the only country in the industrialized world
where the health system is totally private. According to economics,
that should result in competition driving down costs and enhancing the
quality; but neither have been happening. This would indicate either
that there are things that mess with the competition, or that health
care is better done differently. In case of American medical system,
both is the case.

One thing is needed. Medicine must eliminated as part of the profit based
economy.

No, he means like the medical schools that are supported by the states
and/or NGOs. Do you know of a *profit making* medical school in the USA?
Well, there was that one we read about in the carribean. Who accepted
any student with enuf money. You want a doctor from there?

Define "profit making" please. Do private schools fall into that
category?

For certain levels of medical care, sure (think PA). Not for heart
surgery.
