Here in South Wales the leading newspaper headlined a £5000 reward for
whoever gave the best idea for the cluster of Bridgend deaths. I'm up
for that prize, or so the guy says who offered it, with my suggestion
that either a local over-enthusiastic doctor gave the kids
anti-depressants - seroxat or similar drug, or the kids got it themselves.
I have also rang the Bridgend police, the MP, a welsh current affairs
programme, and two newspapers, and others. Either there was no response
or the response is that 'speculation' will 'hurt people's feelings'. The
backlash against reporting was strong, and the newspapers told me that
they could not risk printing even a speculation or hypothesis. Is this
how problems get buried? -
- A Caring Cover-up? Or more a case of protecting vested interests? If
the kids had been suspected of taking LSD or cocaine there would have
been a clamour.
For those not in the know about the catastrophic effects of these drugs
see the Panorama programme about the suicidal effects of seroxat,
prozac, zoloft, etc, made last year. They had a big response and are now
doing a follow-up programme this May. Check their link:
