Can the Christians ever be democratic?

Their voting pattern is simple, yet negative, always minding other
people's lives: NO abortion, NO gay rights... It sounds to me like
"Banana Republic" politics, corrupt politicians and all.

Never do they care about POSITIVE ISSUES like healthcare or
implementing bike facilities, which can make non-polluters feel
welcome on our roads. That's the type of democracy they have in
Holland...

Actually, I propose a "Dutch Package," where issues normal to the
Dutch
--gay rights, bike facilities, prostitution and marihuana-- are
discussed in less open societies --like those ruled by the
Christians.

I agree. "The best democracy money can buy."

Everyone who loves democracy and liberty cares about this issue.
Christianity and all other forms of faith based religious systems are
the ideological enemies of liberty and democracy.

And the Religious Right's de facto founder has already admitted this
quite openly.

Everyone who loves democracy and liberty cares about this issue.

No they don't.
I love democracy and liberty.
That doesn't mean I love to listen to a whiner.

Christianity and all other forms of faith based religious systems are
the ideological enemies of liberty and democracy.

Is this what it sounds like to you?

Historically the growth of democracy in the early modern era was only
made possible because of the breakdown in the power of the church and
the growing schisms of the Reformation.

So this is the modern era.
What about before the modern era?

Why does the United States give them tax exempt status?
Why does the USA have a separation of church and state policy?
Why do churches endorse certain political candidates?

Who are you?
