17 young people have committed suicide in a small welsh region in the
last year. It is making UK main news. No-one knows why they did it and a
reward was offerered in the local paper to anyone who could give a
reason for the deaths. The only cause examined was a copy-cat media
driven one.
I emailed the paper and said that the deaths might be cauused by an
eager local doctor prescribing SSRI's to the young. These are linked to
violence and suicide, and I quoted the BBC investigative programme
Panorma about the deadly effects of these drugs. Also mooted is the
realation between the horrific familiy and school slayings here and in
the USA with these so-called anti-depressants. So far, I have been told
that my idea is the best yet, and a good one. But why didn't the media
think of this, if the media know about doctors prescribing these
dangerous drugs to the young?

tragic, sorrowful
Guess why. Who spends massive dollars on media ads? Who spends massive
dollars on political campaigns? Who gets massive dollars from local,
state and federal government contracts?
Ugly. True.

Some anti-depressants have profoundly negative consequences if they are
discontinued abruptly.
