Greeting to the twelve tribes which are scattered here and there, said Saint
James (i.e., Yakob):

"I defy the Pope and all his laws. If God spare my life, ere many years I
will cause a boy that driveth the plough shall know more of the Scripture
than thou dost." William Tyndale (b. 1494?, martyred 1536 A.D.), debating
with a learned clergyman. (from The Arts and Monuments by John Foxe, or
Foxe's Book of Martyrs)

First presented without verse numbering as it was originally, and inserted
for clarity are definitions of selected words having old or atypical
meanings, as well as any relevant comment by William Tyndale and any
Strong's Concordance citation, as needed. Then verse numbered for comparison
with the King James Version, the NT of which is based largely on the William
Tyndale translation of the Greek texts collated by the revered scholar
Erasmus, whose Greek NT texts are also the basis of the Martin Luther
translation into German. Luther and Tyndale were colleagues at times.

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Section Six 1843-44 Pg.364:

The old German translators are the most nearly correct -- most honest of any
of the translators; and therefore I get testimony to bear me out in the
revelations that I have preached for the last fourteen years. The old
German, Latin, Greek and Hebrew translations all say it is true: they cannot
be impeached, and therefore I am in good company.

All the testimony is that the Lord in the last days would commit the keys of
the Priesthood to a witness over all people.

KJV Psalm 63:1-2,8
"O GOD, thou [art] my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for
thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water
is; To see thy power and thy glory, so [as] I have seen thee in the
sanctuary. ... My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth
me."

KJV Psalm 80:1-2,17
"Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou
that dwellest [between] the cherubims, shine forth. Before Ephraim and
Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come [and] save us. ... Let
thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man [whom] thou
madest strong for thyself."

KJV Isaiah 11:10-13
"And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an
ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be
glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall set
his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which
shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from
Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands
of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall
assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah
from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart,
and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah,
and Judah shall not vex Ephraim."

KJV Isaiah 52:7-8
"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good
tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that
publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Thy watchmen
shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they
shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion."

KJV Isaiah 55:3-5
"Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I
will make an everlasting covenant with you, [even] the sure mercies of
David. Behold, I have given him [for] a witness to the people, a leader and
commander to the people. Behold, thou shalt call a nation [that] thou
knowest not, and nations [that] knew not thee shall run unto thee because of
the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified
thee."

This Eyewitness of Jesus Christ in these the last days is Art Bulla, who is
the One Mighty and Strong (see Isaiah 28, as well as Doctrine and Covenants
85 received by Joseph Smith the Seer) for the salvation of Ephraim and
Manasseh, the house of Joseph. The mighty revelations of Jesus Christ
received by the Prophets (and Apostles of Jesus Christ) Joseph Smith and Art
Bulla are written in God's simple yet exalted and sonorous English (as a
lesser substitute for the pure tongue of Adam and the Hebrew tongue of Moses
and Elijah and Isaiah, that clear thinking be fostered, inviting the
influence and power of the Holy Ghost unto the hearts and minds of all true
believers), even that fashioned through the instrument of one William
Tyndale, a latter-day saint of Christ (baptism for the dead is a true
doctrine), for the English tongue, is it not the lingua franca of the last
days, as Greek and Aramaic were (because of the conquests of Alexander the
Great and of his predecessor, the Persian Empire, respectively) in the days
of the Messiah and His Holy Apostles? Hence the righteous cadence of the
Book of Mormon also, unto vexation of the wicked, that the despised Bible be
further validated. May the word of the Lord God of Israel go forth unto the
ends of the earth! May the salvation of the Lord be shown to the remnant of
Israel and to the Gentiles who have care for the house of Israel, Amen and
Amen.

KJV Isaiah 49:12
"Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from
the west; and these from the land of Sinim."

Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 21:12
"And then, O house of Israel, behold, these shall come from far; and lo,
these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim."

The Epistle of James

Chapter 2

Brethren have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ the lord of glory in
respect of persons. If there come into your company a man with a golden ring

and in goodly apparel and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment,
and ye have a respect to him that weareth the gay clothing and say unto him:
Sit thou here in a good place: and say unto the poor, stand thou there or
sit here under my footstool: are ye not partial in yourselves, and have
judged after evil thoughts?

Respect, n.
... To have respect of persons, to regard persons with partiality
or undue bias, especially on account of friendship, power,
wealth, etc.
It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
Prov. xxiv. 23. ...
Vile, adj.
1. Low; base; worthless; mean; despicable.
A poor man in vile raiment.
James ii. 2.
Gay, adj.
2. Brilliant in colors; splendid; fine; richly dressed.

Hearken my dear beloved brethren. Hath not God chosen the poor of this
world, which are rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised
to them that love him? But ye have despised the poor. Are not the rich they
which oppress you: and they which draw you before judges? Do not they
speak evil of that good name after which ye be named?

Hearken, v.
1. To listen; to lend the ear; to attend to what is uttered;
to give heed; to hear, in order to obey or comply. ...
Hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments,
which I teach you.
Deut. iv. 1.

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture which saith: Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well. But if ye regard one
person more than another, ye commit sin, and are rebuked of the law as
transgressors. Whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet fail in one
point, he is guilty in all. For he that said: Thou shalt not commit
adultery, said also: thou shalt not kill. Though thou do none adultery, yet
if thou kill, thou art a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do as
they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For there shall be
judgement merciless to him that showeth no mercy, and mercy rejoiceth
against judgement:

Rejoice, v.
... Synonyms. To delight; joy; exult; triumph.
Tyndale's Comment
... And mercy rejoiceth and triumpheth over judgment. ...
Judgment, n.
6. A calamity regarded as sent by God, by way of recompense for
wrong committed; a providential punishment.
Judgments are prepared for scorners.
Prov. xix. 29.

What availeth it my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, when he hath
no deeds? Can faith save him? If a brother or a sister be naked or destitute
of daily food, and one of you say unto them: Depart in peace, God send you
warmness and food: not withstanding ye give them not those things which are
needful to the body: what helpeth it them? Even so faith, if it have no
deeds, is dead in itself.

Avail, v.
1. To turn to the advantage of; to be of service to; to profit;
to benefit; to help; as, artifices will not avail the sinner in
the day of judgment.

Yea and a man might say: Thou hast faith, and I have deeds: Show me thy
faith by thy deeds: and I will show thee my faith by my deeds. Believest
thou that there is one God? Thou doest well. The devils also believe and
tremble.

Wilt thou understand o thou vain man, that faith without deeds is dead? Was
not Abraham our father justified through works when he offered Isaac his son
upon the altar? Thou seest how that faith wrought with his deeds, and
through the deeds was the faith made perfect: and the scripture was
fulfilled which saith: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed unto him for
righteousness: and he was called the friend of God. Ye see then how that of
deeds a man is justified, and not of faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab
the harlot justified through works, when she received the messengers, and
sent them out another way? For as the body, without the spirit is dead, even
so faith without deeds is dead.

Strong's Concordance (for the KJV Bible) on "vain" in James 2:20
2756. *kenos*, empty (lit. or fig.):--empty, (in) vain.
Vain, adj.
1. Having no real substance, value, or importance; empty; void;
worthless; unsatisfying. ...
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew. Ps. xxxix. 6.
Let no man deceive you with vain words. Eph. v. 6. ...
Vain wisdom all, and false philosophy. Milton.
Wrought, adj.
(old use) Worked; elaborated; not rough or crude.
(of metals) beaten out or shaped by hammering.
Wrought iron, iron made by forging or rolling, not cast.
Repute, v.
To hold in thought; to account; to estimate; to hold; to think;
to reckon.

1 Brethren have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ the lord of glory in

2 If there come into your company a man with a golden ring and in goodly

24 And the angel of the Lord said unto me: Thou hast beheld that the book
proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew; and when it proceeded forth from
the mouth of a Jew it contained the fulness of the gospel of the Lord, of
whom the twelve apostles bear record; and they bear record according to the
truth which is in the Lamb of God.

25 Wherefore, these things go forth from the Jews in purity unto the
Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God.

26 And after they go forth by the hand of the twelve apostles of the Lamb,
from the Jews unto the Gentiles, thou seest the formation of that great and
abominable church, which is most abominable above all other churches; for
behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which
are plain and most precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they
taken away.

27 And all this have they done that they might pervert the right ways of the
Lord, that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children
of men.

28 Wherefore, thou seest that after the book hath gone forth through the
hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and
precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of
God.

29 And after these plain and precious things were taken away it goeth forth
unto all the nations of the Gentiles; and after it goeth forth unto all the
nations of the Gentiles, yea, even across the many waters which thou hast
seen with the Gentiles which have gone forth out of captivity, thou
seest-because of the many plain and precious things which have been taken
out of the book, which were plain unto the understanding of the children of
men, according to the plainness which is in the Lamb of God-because of these
things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceedingly
great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them.

(Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 13:24 - 29)

28 And now I say unto you that the time shall come that the salvation of the
Lord shall be declared to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.

29 Yea, Lord, thy watchmen shall lift up their voice; with the voice
together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall
bring again Zion.

30 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem; for
the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

31 The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and
all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

(Book of Mormon | Mosiah 15:28 - 31)

67 Therefor give heed unto the words which I have caused that they should be
written and put into the world, for they verily teach of the particulars and
laws which must be obeyed and may not be abrogated in the least by the
foolish vagaries and notions of mankind upon the points of my doctrine,
which doctrine was instituted for the salvation of my children from before
the foundation of the world upon which thou standest, for I the Lord God am
the same, yesterday, today, and forever and am no respecter of persons.

68 And I hereby set my seal, saith the Lord, upon this work and unto
whomsoever it may come, that it verily is through and of me, saith the Lord,
and doth teach men the right path which leadeth unto the eternal lives and a
spirit of peace will accompany this work to testify that I have spoken it,
saith the Lord God of the Lives.

69 And is the only true gospel which is authorized by the heavens and
recognized thereby.

70 Even so, be diligent and receive whomsoever I send, saith the Lord, and
if ye receive whomsoever I send, ye shall receive me, even Jesus of
Nazereth, whom the world in its pride and wisdom, and its multitude of
creeds and beliefs which are the very chains and fetters of hell, hath not
known.

71 Even so, until I come.

Ephraim and Manasseh)
